Early Life and Education



Neeraj K. Pawan hails from Jhalawar, Rajasthan. He completed his early education in local government schools, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors.


His commitment to education and public service led him to pursue a career in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), and he was selected in the 2003 batch.

Administrative Career

Throughout his career, Neeraj K. Pawan has held various significant positions in the Rajasthan state administration. He served as the District Collector in multiple districts, including Dungarpur, Karauli, Pali, and Bharatpur. His tenure in Bharatpur was particularly notable during the Gurjar agitation, where his leadership helped in restoring peace without any further violence.

He also held the position of Secretary to the Government in departments such as Labour, Employment, Skill & Entrepreneurship, Factory & Boiler Inspection, and Medical & Health Services (E.S.I). In 2023, he was appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of the newly formed Banswara division, making him the only direct IAS officer to hold such a position among the state's divisions. 

Contributions and Initiatives

Neeraj K. Pawan has been recognized for his efforts in improving public services and implementing social welfare programs. In 2016, he was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with a corruption case in the health department. Later, in 2021, his name surfaced again in the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) bribery case, where he was under investigation by the ACB. These incidents have led to debates about his role and conduct within the administrative framework.
